🍃Reflections🍂

With Orion’s Belt parallel to the horizon  And the moon directly above,  I watch in awe, unable to breathe— Fully captivated and spilling over with wonder that the God of all creation would know me and still care for me. God paused the sunset for me tonight  So I could memorize the way it feels to encounter his beauty. Something inside swells up— A lump in the throat, A sense of longing for a lasting beauty  That does not appear for a little time and vanish away. There is a beauty in those things you know are not lasting… The commonplace. There is beauty in the fleeting  And as we gasp, Reaching—yet not fully able to grasp The sun’s assent and descent,  a flower’s full bloom,  a child’s innocent laugh unembittered by life, The stillness before and after a storm,  The beauty of a moment in time. Stifled wonder cannot—will not choose to sing. Will you choose to see?
